Finding Motivation on a Winter Morning
It seems this like this time of year is always frustrating. I wake up on a Saturday morning to sunshine and discover its only 13 degrees outside--and there goes my motivation to get things done! There is a pile of recycling that needs to go out, but I don't really want to venture out into the cold to the bin. Along with with the recycling, there Christmas gifts scattered about that still haven't quite found a home yet. The thought comes to me that perhaps a day like today is best suited for organizing and purging things we don't need. The kids sure have more than they need and I really could get rid of some things. But, I haven't quite found the motivation to take on this project yet. I would really rather go out for the day and visit some shops, perhaps get my hair cut and then do the weekly grocery shopping. But, I most definitely cannot bring myself to bundle up and brave the frigid weather. So, I am left sitting here frustrated with the mess and and the weather. But, perhaps the answer is to get over it and get on with the day before it is gone. One way or another I have to get these things done, so now I just need to get up and get moving. Sigh. No use groaning about the inevitable, I suppose. So, here I go.
