LEED Study Day 18

Well, I haven't really studied 18 days in a row, but that is how many days have elapsed in my quest to study for the LEED Accredited Professional Exam. Thus far I have logged 15.25 hours and read 87 pages in the LEED 2009 for Commercial Interiors guide, 38 pages in a LEED Professional Accreditation Study Guide, taken 3 practice exams (1st exam score: 37%, 2nd: 45% & 3rd: 61%) and have downloaded an app for my iPhone which has over 600 flashcards (so that I can study on the go). I guess what I have learned so far it that this test is going to be REALLY HARD and that I have a ways to go before I will feel ready.

I have found a fantastic and FREE practice exam and resource: 101 Question LEED GA Practice Exam

This was the practice exam I took this evening and got a 61% on (not great, but showing improvement!) I found that the test, which is geared at preparing individuals for the Green Associate Exam, is comprehensive and what's better is that there is a full answer guide which goes through the correct answers to the questions with supporting documentation and links to external references. I have saved this PDF for future review. I recommend taking this test if you are studying for the GA or AP exam.

Anyhow, I am happy to say that I am on my way to becoming prepared for this exam and I seem to have gotten over some of the dread and procrastination that was keeping from hitting the books. What I need to remember is this exam is expensive and if I fail I'm out about $500 and not only that but attaining this professional credential is an excellent way to keep myself current and competitive.

I will try to keep you up to date with my progress and will most certainly post other documents or resources that I find helpful in studying! If you have any suggestions to help me or others successfully pass the exam, please feel free to share with a comment.
