LEED Study Day 1
I am really, really tired right now, so I am going to keep this short. But, last May I decided to take the LEED exam so it's now January 12th and I haven't made any headway on studying. I recently received a "friendly reminder" that my test taking eligibility period ends on May 31, 2011 and I was like, holy crap! I have been putting off the studying for too long and now I realized that I just need to suck it up and get on with it. (Seems like I have to do that a lot!!). Anyhow, without firm deadlines, I get just about nothing gets done, so I decided today that I am going to take the exam on Monday, March 14th (pending that date's availability). That day is the Monday before Spring starts and is just over 2 months away... that should be do-able, right? I did some google searches earlier about studying for the exam and found that many people recommend 80-100 hours of prep and study time. (AHHHH!!!!) So, I officially have to study for at least 1.5 everyday for the next 2 months. Just the thought of that makes me a little depressed. But, it is the winter and 11 degrees outside, I really have no intention on going outside on a day like today and what better time than now to buckle down and study. So, at the end of study day 1 I have made it through the intro to the guide (17 pages) and the first 6 pages of the actual guide (Sustainable Sites CR 1 & 2). Not too bad for a first day and 2 hours of reading and taking notes. Now, I just need to get motivated and make this fun somehow. Any suggestions!?!
